Phase IV of the Scar Protocol utilizes a specially designed cream that may encourage an optimal healing environment. At this time in the healing process, your skin should be fully healed and your body in the middle of forming the scar. Scar formation process can last up to two years after your initial surgery or wound.
Phase IV encompasses a three month treatment period. When you begin Phase IV, you will be roughly seven months into Scar Protocol. At this time, scar generation is still in the early stages. Using the Phase IV cream at this time, may help to continue creating an ideal healing environment for each stage of healing.
Like the last few phases, you apply Phase IV twice daily, ensuring that the cream covers the entire scar. You may also find benefit from massaging in the Phase IV cream to better absorb it into the skin. This will continue for the next three months as you approach the final phase of Scar Protocol. During this stage of healing, your skin likely looks fully healed and the pigment and the scar starts to become more apparent.
