Phase III of the Scar Protocol uses a purified white snail mucin based product. At this point, your incision may look mostly healed over, with some minor redness due to the formation of the new skin over the wound. Purified white snail mucin contains high amounts of vitamins and antioxidants to nurture the skin during this crucial time. You should begin Phase III immediately after completing Phase II and should continue it for three months.
Phase III encompasses months three through five of the Scar Protocol system. At this point, your incision scar will look like the traditional surgical scar. It may look discolored and feel a little rougher than the rest of your skin. When you apply Phase III, it should cover the entire scar. You should apply twice daily over the three months. Snail mucin is a highly hydrating ingredient that will keep the incision scar well nourished throughout Phase III.
This three month regimen accounts for a crucial time in the healing process where the visibility of your scar begins to form and worsen after the initial healing of the wound. Starting treatment of your scar early may help reduce the appearance of the final scar that forms.
