Phase I Scar Cleanser

A gentle, sulfate-free scar cleanser after surgery product that cleans the surgical site without stripping healing skin. Decyl glucoside lifts residue and bacteria, while coconut, olive, and sunflower oils keep the barrier soft. Aloe and rosemary calm redness around the incision. It is the foundation of post-surgery scar care and stays in your routine through all five phases.

Phase I Scar Ointment

A silicone-based scar ointment for the earliest stage of healing. Medical-grade silicone forms a breathable layer that holds moisture in the barrier, supported by shea, jojoba, tamanu, rosehip, and ten other plant oils. Calendula, chamomile, arnica, and gotu kola soothe early redness, while green tea, noni, and panthenol add antioxidant and hydration support. It is the first scar cream after surgery in the Scar Protocol system. Alcohol-free. Paraben-free.

Before surgery (weeks 2 to 0): Use the scar cleanser once daily on the planned surgical area. Apply a thin layer of scar ointment to keep skin hydrated and barrier-strong.

After surgery (weeks 0 to 2): Once your surgeon confirms the incision is closed and cleared for washing, cleanse gently once or twice daily and follow with the ointment.

Cleanser directions: Wash hands before use. Apply to the affected site. Gently massage and allow to lather. Rinse and pat dry.

Ointment directions: Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin and allow to absorb. Do not apply to an open wound.

The cleanser continues through all five phases. The ointment is replaced by Phase II at week 2.

Always follow your surgeon's post-operative instructions for incision care. If you notice increased redness, swelling, discharge or fever, contact your care team before continuing any product.

Surgical scar care that starts before the first incision

Good scar care after surgery starts with stable skin. Phase I prepares the surgical site before your procedure and supports it through wound closure.

  • Cleans gently: a sulfate-free scar cleanser lifts residue and bacteria without disturbing healing tissue
  • Calms redness: aloe, chamomile and calendula soothe irritated skin around the incision
  • Holds moisture: medical-grade silicone and plant oils keep the barrier hydrated
  • Prepares for Phase II: skin that enters proliferation calm and hydrated responds better to the next stage

Why one cream was never enough

Dr. Javad Sajan, a renowned plastic surgeon, had spent his career in the operating room with thousands of surgeries. With those surgeries came thousands of incisions closed with precision. And thousands of patients sent home with the same instruction every surgeon gives: "Here's an ointment. Use it twice a day."

But something kept bothering him.

A scar on day seven looks nothing like a scar at week six. A scar at month four behaves nothing like a scar at month ten. In those early days, the skin is raw and inflamed, begging for moisture and protection. Weeks later, it's rebuilding collagen at full speed, sometimes too much of it. Months on, it's remodeling, fading, flattening, still changing beneath the surface. Each of those stages has different needs.

And yet patients were handed one tube and told to make it work for all of them.

So Dr. Sajan did what surgeons do. He solved the problem. He formulated a complete, phase-by-phase post-surgical scar treatment, one that changes as your scar changes. Each cream is timed to a specific window of healing, with ingredients chosen for exactly what the skin is doing at that moment. With years of research and testing, Scar Protocol became the first full scar reduction protocol of its kind.

Not a cream. A system. The way surgical scar care should have always been done.

Why one cream was never enough

What Makes the Scar Protocol Different?

  • Phase-timed formulas

Five distinct creams, each matched to a specific healing window. Your scar care evolves as your scar does.
  • Starts with a cleanser

The best scar treatment cream with cleanser included. Phase I is the only step in the system that pairs two products, the Natural Cleanser and the Phase I cream, to work together directly during the most fragile weeks.
  • Plastic Surgeon-designed

Created by a practicing plastic surgeon, not a marketing team. Refined on real patients with years of research and testing.
  • A full year of care

One kit carries you from incision through the final remodeling stage of your scar.
  • Guaranteed Return

If you're not satisfied within 90 days, return the kit for a full refund. No questions asked.

  • Are looking for the best scar treatment after surgery without prescriptions or in-office procedures

Happy customer

After surgery, I started using the scar protocol creams and religiously use them...They were awesome. And I could visibly see the differences in coloring on the different stages as things were healing. I love the way my scars came out, they're almost invisible.

Dr. Sajan's real patient

After top surgery, I wanted to try Scar Protocol to avoid the onslaught of scar healing advice and products. While I was initially skeptical, Scar Protocol has made my healing journey smooth and easy. I am so glad I decided to give this product a shot!

Dr. Sajan's real patient

Scar Protocol changed the speed of my scar healing after my surgery and even after a bike wreck. I always want to have this on hand as it provides the best results for any kind of scar.

Mag Pie

My provider has Scar Protocol which I've been using, which has made my scars very supple. A lot of times the scar tissue tightens and binds up, I haven't had that.

Jake Fletcher

All these little miracles together, basically make your scar disappear, like magic!

Julie Clayton

I have been using the Scar Protocol System since then as part of my post-op care...I'm very satisfied with the treatment...and I highly recommend Dr. Sajan and his products [silicone cream].
